A Wedding Song, O‘ahu

Song of Songs Tribute

In misted kisses

the young bride

married her groom

mother and father buzzed

from love and white wine.

I felt biblical

pouring another glass

until the bride and I

cried by the open fridge

letting the strawberries ripen.

The vines grew slowly

behind the couple while

three dogs and one goat

were fed flakes of salmon.

We returned to Lebanon,

if only for a moment.
